How it works
- An ad, a video, or a new online friend introduces an AI trading platform with amazing results.
- You start small. The account shows steady, impressive gains.
- You’re encouraged to add more, or to bring in friends for a bonus.
- When you try to withdraw, there are fees, taxes or delays, and the money is gone.
Warning signs
- Guaranteed or very high monthly returns
- “No trading experience needed”
- A platform you can’t find on Investor.gov
- Bonuses for recruiting friends
- Fees or taxes before you can withdraw
What to do
- Don’t invest in anything promising guaranteed high returns with little or no risk.
- Check the firm and the person on Investor.gov, or the NFA’s BASIC database for futures and forex firms, before sending money.
- Look up how long the website has existed at lookup.icann.org. New sites are a warning sign.
- Get a second opinion from someone you trust.
